BARN HUNT Practice Drop-in Sessions

New Handlers - INSTINCT / NOVICE / OPEN
(Must have completed a seminar, course or have experience in barn hunt already)
These time slots are run as practice sessions for handlers who have introduced their dog to rats and have a bit of experience in the sport. I will be there to answer questions, go over BHA rules, ensure proper rat handling and ring procedures are followed and to help with any training issues but these are not "lessons", more so guided practice to help you and your dog achieve your Barn Hunt goals!

Within a specified time slot you will be given 3 separate time blocks to practice whatever skills you want to work on - it is your time to practice whatever you wish:

-
building drive for the live tube
-
indicating the live tube
-
scent discrimination
-
climbing
-
going through a tunnel
-
running a full course & being timed

*Note that several people will be grouped together in a block of time - this is a sport that requires participation / volunteering in order to run so you will need to be present for the whole 1 hour block of time, not just when running your own dog. You learn A LOT from watching others and their dogs and we are all here to support each other :)
